A Visual Ode to the Shadows of American Industry and Its Victims
“Anyone who’s ever worked in a corporate office job knows the slow, impending madness of the cubicle, the box, the prison. There’s probably a reason why there’s such overlap in modern corporation and prison architecture – both seem to be trapped in swaths of stark white, black, gray, and brown. It’s cold and uninviting, almost haunting in a way. The black and white Euclidean void fractures personality and cheer. One would think an environment in which the average worker will spend most of their time would have some semblance of warmth or invitation, regardless of the industry. Instead, we’re given the Twilight Zone – a kafkaesque maze of long hallways, sharp corners, and sterile shadows. We get coworkers that we’ll see, probably more than our own families on a given day, but to whom we can never get too close. Things get surreal after a while.”
